Talovka
Talovka
(in its upper and middle course, Kuiul), a river in Kamchatka Oblast, RSFSR. The Talovka measures 458 km in length and drains an area of 24,100 sq km. It originates in the western spurs of the Vetvei Range, flows through the Parapol’skii Dol, and crosses the Penzhina Mountains, emptying into Penzhina Bay, an inlet of Shelikhov Gulf of the Sea of Okhotsk. It is fed mainly by snow. The river freezes between late October and early November, and the ice breaks up in May. The Talovka is a spawning ground for salmon.
