Established: 1990.
Location:9 miles west of Holcomb, Mississippi, along Tippo Bayou.
Facilities:Boat ramp.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, hiking, fishing, hunting.
Special Features:Most of the agriculture land of the area is devoted to raising soybeans and rice, for the benefit of waterfowl. The refuge is complemented on the south by the 9,483 acre Malmaison Wildlife Management Area, managed by the State of Mississippi.
Habitats: 4,083 acres of former agricultural lands; about 1/3 of the property has been reforested with native bottomland trees.
Access: Year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Eastern screech owls, barred owls, loggerhead shrikes, red-tailed hawks, painted buntings, white-tailed deer, rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons.
