Tower of Babel Syndrome

A term coined in reference to the lack of standardisation of medical terminology which may result in
(1) Miscommunication between health professionals from different regions of the world even if they speak the same language
(2) Miscommunication between doctors and patients
(3) Incomplete literature searches for a particular condition because the person doing the search was unaware of all of the entity’s synonyms and aliases
