Vashkovtsy

a city (since 1940) in Vizhnitsa Raion, Chernovtsy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, on the Cheremosh River (tributary of the Prut). Has a railroad station. Population, 7,000 (1968). The city has an alcohol factory, a household appliances factory, and a medical school.
