Baisuntau
Baisuntau
a mountain range in Middle Asia, a southwestern spur of the Gissar Range in the Uzbek SSR. Baisun-tau is about 150 km long, with an elevation of up to 4,424 m. It is composed of limestone, sandstone, and clay. The lower portions of the slopes are covered with semidesert vegetation; higher up are juniper forests and alpine meadows.
