Towada

a lake in Japan, on northern Honshu. The lake is located in the Ou Range at an elevation of 327 m in the caldera of an extinct volcano. It covers an area of 59 sq km and has a depth of 334 m. Lake Towada drains into the Pacific Ocean through the Oirase River. The city of Utarube is situated on the eastern lakeshore. The lake is used for commercial fishing. It is a recreation area and the site of a national park.
