Tier I, II, III, or IV data center

Tier I, II, III, or IV data center

Facilities for the secure maintenance of data computers for government, industry, health care, and finance. Each increase in a tier level represents increased redundancy (duplication of equipment),reliability, power paths, and availability. A Tier IV data center must be able to withstand one unanticipated worst-case scenario with no interruption in service. Because of rigorous site prerequisites for a Tier IV facility, such as distances from certain risk factors, it can be extremely difficult to find an appropriate property for a user.
