Sultaniyeh

 

a village in northwestern Iran. Sultaniyeh is the site of an outstanding monument of Middle Iranian architecture, the mausoleum of Oljeytu-Khodabandeh (1305–13, architect Ali-Shah). A majestic eight-sided building, the mausoleum is crowned with a high dome and has two-galleried walls. It is richly decorated with glazed tiles and carved stucco and terra-cotta.
