Pechatnye Poshliny

(also pechat’ or pechatnoe), fees collected in Russia from the 15th to 17th centuries for affixing the official seal to private documents. These fees were gradually replaced in the 18th century by a stamp tax collected for the special stamped paper that was used for official documents.
