air-suspension encapsulation air-suspension encapsulation[′ər sə¦spen·shən in‚kap·sə′lā·shən] (chemical engineering) A technique for microencapsulation of various types of solid particles; the particles undergo a series of cycles in which they are first suspended by a vertical current of air while they are sprayed with a solution of coating material, and are then moved by the airstream into a region where they undergo a drying treatment. Also known as Wurster process. |
