Universal Viewfinder
Universal Viewfinder
a telescopic sight that consists of an eyepiece and several lenses mounted on a rotating turret. Universal viewfinders are used in still and motion-picture cameras equipped with range finders and interchangeable camera lenses. The focal lengths of a universal viewfinder’s lenses are proportional to the focal lengths of the interchangeable lenses, so that the angle of the viewfinder’s field of view is equal to the angle of the image field of the corresponding interchangeable lens.
