Established: 1972.
Location:Within the Pearl Harbor Naval Base, 10 miles west of Honolulu.
Special Features:Refuge is composed of two units: the Honouliuli Unit, which is extensively managed for a variety of waterbirds including Hawaii's endangered waterbirds and migrant waterfowl; and the Waiawa Unit, which is composed of two ponds, one of which is primarily managed for the endangered Hawaiian stilt.
Habitats: Two parcels totaling 62 acres of freshwater wetlands.
Access: Limited access; contact refuge office.
Wild life: Endangered Hawaiian moorhen, Hawaiian coot, Hawaiian duck, and the Hawaiian stilt.
