Real Selling

The level at which institutional investors are selling a security. Because institutional investors sell at much larger volumes than other investors, and because they are sometimes thought to be more sophisticated, real selling may indicate the future direction of a security's price. It may also (but does not necessarily) indicate technical or fundamental weakness.
