Uvildy
Uvil’dy
a climatological, balneological, and pelotherapeutic health resort in Cheliabinsk Oblast, RSFSR. It is situated on Lake Uvil’dy, 90 km northwest of Cheliabinsk and 21 km from the railroad station of Argaiash. Summers are moderately warm (average July temperature, 17.5°C), and winters are moderately cold (average January temperature, -16°C). Annual precipitation totals 420 mm. Therapeutic remedies include climatotherapy, sapropelic mud from Lakes AkachkuF and Bol’shoi Bilishkul’, and mineral springs, whose radon waters (11-32 nanocuries per liter; 30-90 Mache units) and sulfate-hydrocarbonate sodium, calcium, and magnesium waters are used for therapeutic baths. The resort offers treatment for diseases of the circulatory and musculoskeletal systems, gynecological disorders, and diseases of the peripheral nervous system. Uvil’dy has a sanatorium, a bathhouse and a mud-bath facility.
Uvil’dy
a lake with no outlet in Cheliabinsk Oblast, RSFSR. Situated at an elevation of 275 m, Lake Uvil’dy covers an area of 68.1 sq km. The average depth is 14 m, and the maximum depth is 38 m. The Cheremshanka River empties into the lake. The water level varies within 1 m. The lake freezes in November and opens up in May. Sapropelic mud is abundant. The health resort of Uvil’dy has been built near radon springs located near Lake Uvil’dy.
