PDLIM5
PDLIM5
A gene on chromosome 4q22 that encodes a LIM-domain protein that has cysteine-rich double-zinc fingers involved in protein-protein interactions; it is also an enigma protein containing a PDZ domain, which are found in signalling proteins. PDLIM5 is thought to play a role in heart development as an integral component of heart cell scaffolding.Molecular pathology
PDLIM5 overexpression is associated with cardiac hypertrophy.
