Special Features:Park pays tribute to Sgt. Alvin C. York, the backwoods marksman from the mountains of Tennessee who became one of the most decorated soldiers of World War I. York's fame rose from his legendary exploits in the Argonne Forest in France when he found himself alone opposing a German machine gun unit. When the battle was over, York and six comrades had 132 German prisoners. Site includes the York family farm and the grist mill he operated on the banks of the Wolf River.
