Sergach

a city and administrative center of Sergach Raion, Gorky Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the P’iana River (Volga River basin). Railroad station on the Arzamas-Kanash line, 150 km southeast of the city of Gorky. Population, 24,600 (1975). Sergach has railroad enterprises, plants producing sugar, yeast, and towers for power transmission lines, and a clothing factory.
