Ural’skaia Pravda

 

(Pravda of the Urals), a legal Bolshevik newspaper published in Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk) from Apr. 22 (May 5) to Aug. 24 (Sept. 6), 1917; principal publication of the Ural’sk oblast committee and the Ekaterinburg committee of the RSDLP. A total of 25 issues appeared, with a circulation of 8,000–10,000. Ural’skaia pravda published seven articles and documents of V. I. Lenin, the decrees of the Seventh (April) All-Russian Conference and the Sixth Congress of the RSDLP(B), and the Central Committee’s manifesto To All Working People, to All Workers, Soldiers, and Peasants of Russia.

The newspaper provided broad coverage of the activities of the party organizations of the Urals and of the living conditions of workers, soldiers, and peasants. The newspaper was shut down by the bourgeois Provisional Government on Aug. 25 (Sept. 7), 1917. On Sept. 6 (19), 1917, the Bolsheviks of the Urals began publication of the newspaper Ural’skii rabochii (The Worker of the Urals).
