Senior nurses perform many of the same tasks as staff nurses, but have authority when they are in charge of the ward or department area during a shift. Senior nurses are usually at pay band 5 or 6 under the Agenda for Change, which corresponds to E or F grade under the Whitley system (which was officially retired in 2004 but may still be used in the working parlance). |
