VREFThe target speed airline pilots aim to achieve on short finals. This is referred to as VREF + 5, VREF + 10, or VREF + 15 at various stages of the approach. VREF is factored on stalling speed [1.35 x VSO (stalling speed with the gear and the flaps down)] and so it varies with aircraft weight.VREF
