Location:In Baltimore, Howard, Carroll, and Anne Arundel counties, on thewestern outskirts of Baltimore City. Patapsco has five separaterecreation areas: Avalon-Glenn Artney-Orange Grove Area, Hilton Area,Hollofield Area, Pickall Area, and McKeldin Area.
Facilities:73 improved campsites with electrical hookups, 14 family campsites (tent only, no electricity), 6 camper cabins, youth groupcamping, picnic areas and shelters, hiking, mountain biking, andequestrian trails, self-guiding nature trails, ballfields, playgrounds, disc golf course, historic sites, visitor center (é).
Activities:Camping, canoeing, freshwater fishing, hiking, horseback riding,mountain biking, nature walks, cross-country skiing, hunting,interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park extends along 32 miles of the Patapsco River and is nationallyknown for its trail opportunities and scenery. Among its many featuresare the world's longest multiple-arched stone railroad bridge, a300-foot suspension bridge over the river, and the Avalon VisitorCenter with exhibits covering 300 years of local history.
