(sem'ē-ten'di-nō'sus mŭs'ĕl) Origin, ischial tuberosity; insertion, medial surface of the upper fourth of shaft of tibia; action, extends thigh, flexes leg and rotates it medially; nerve supply, tibial.
Synonym(s): musculus semitendinosus [TA] .
