Pask
PASK
PASK A gene on chromosome 2q37.3 that encodes a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine protein kinase that involved in energy homeostasis and protein translation by phosphorylating EEF1A1, GYS1, PDX1 and RPS6. It is thought to play a role in upregulating protein translation by phosphorylating EEF1A1, leading to increased translation efficiency. PASK may also participate in regulating respiration. It is also a less preferred gene symbol for what is now designated as STK39, see there.PASK
