Pashkov, Anatolii Ignat’evich
Born Nov. 2 (15), 1900, in the village of Marchuki, now in Elets Raion, Lipetsk Oblast. Soviet economist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1953). Member of the CPSU since 1919.
Pashkov graduated from the economics division of the department of social sciences at Moscow State University in 1925 and from the Economics Institute of the Red Professors in 1931. He began his teaching and research in 1923. His major works deal with the political economy of socialism, issues of communist construction, the history of Russian and Soviet economic thought, and the elaboration of Lenin’s contributions to the theory of political economy. Pashkov was managing editor and also wrote several sections of the History of Russian Economic Thought (vols. 1–3, 1955–66). He has been awarded two orders and various medals.
