prakriti

prakriti

Ayurvedic medicine
The unique pattern of bioforces, or doshas (kapha, pitta and vata), that a person has at the time of conception, which corresponds to the Western concept of an individual constitution.
There are seven general patterns of pakriti, which reflect the degree to which each dosha influences a person. A person’s prakriti is evaluated in part by pulse reading, a system in which 12 positions of the arterial pulse at the wrists are assessed; the ayurvedic practitioner reads the composition of the three doshas and determines the balance or imbalance in the patient’s various organ functions.
