释义 | Rossbach, EdRossbach, Ed (Charles Edmund)(1914– ) weaver; born in Chicago. After service in World War II and with a 1947 M.F.A. in ceramics and weaving from Cranbrook Academy, he became design professor at the University of California: Berkeley (1950–79). Acclaimed as the "father of contemporary fiber," he led in the development of nonfunctional textiles, the use of unusual materials, and the introduction of basketry techniques to make sculptural forms. |
