Rapson, Ralph Rapson, Ralph (1914–2010)Minneapolis-based architect, whose career began working with Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, Harry Weese, Lazlo Moholy-Nagy, and at MIT with Alvar Aalto. Notable works include Cedar Square West (1974) and the Tyrone Guthrie Theater (illus.), both in Minneapolis, MN (1963). Rapson designed modernist embassies for the United States in Copenhagen and Stockholm. Other works include the Rang Center for the Performing Arts and the Fine Arts buildings for the University of Minnesota, the Cedar-Riverside complex, the State Capitol Credit Union, and the Performing Arts Center at the University of California, Santa Cruz. |
