Rapoport, Judith Livant

(1933– ) child psychiatrist; born in New York City. She became chief of the child psychiatry branch, National Institutes of Mental Health (1984), and was the author of The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Washing (1989). Her research has covered aspects of child psychiatry, including diagnosis, hyperactivity, pediatric psychopharmacology, and the obsessive-compulsive disorder.
