a city (since 1956) under oblast jurisdiction in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Solenaia River (Dnieper River basin), 5 km from the Selidovka railroad station on the Donetsk-Krasnoarmeisk line. Population, 95,700 (1975). Coal is mined in the area, and Selidova has a facility for washing coal. It also has plants for the production of rein-forced-concrete structural members and concrete made with asphalt cement and a milk plant and a cannery. There is a mining technicum in the city.
