Taitao

Taitao

 

a peninsula in the southwestern part of South America, in southern Chile. It is about 124 km long and about 115 km wide and rises to a maximum elevation of 1,200 m. Taitao is connected to the Andes by the low-lying Ofqui Isthmus and is bordered in the south by the Gulf of Peñas. Its coast is deeply dissected by fjords.
