Rangkul

a lake in the Pamirs, in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, Tadzhik SSR. Situated at an elevation of 3,782 m, Rangkul’ covers an area of 7.8 sq km and is approximately 2.5 m deep. The shores are flat and in places swampy. The water is fresh in some places and slightly salty in others. Rangkul’ is connected with Lake Shorkul’, which lies farther west, by the Uziukdar’ia River.
