Wal·la·chi·a also Wa·la·chi·a W0018500 (wə-lā′kē-ə, wŏ-) A historical region of southeast Romania between the Transylvanian Alps and the Danube River. Founded as a principality c. 1290, it was dominated by the Ottoman Empire from c. 1415 until it was united with Moldavia to form Romania (1862).
