[′test ‚dad·ə] (computer science) A set of data developed specifically to test the adequacy of a computer run or system; the data may be actual data that has been taken from previous operations, or artificial data created for this purpose.

test data

A set of data created for testing new or revised applications. Test data should be developed by the user as well as the programmer and must contain a sample of every category of valid data as well as many invalid conditions as possible.
