Parnon
Parnon
a mountain range in Greece, in the southeastern Peloponnesus. It is approximately 100 km long, with elevations to 1,935 m. The range is composed primarily of schists and limestones. The western slopes are gently inclined, but the eastern slopes drop steeply to the Gulf of Argolis, an inlet of the Mediterranean Sea. The slopes are covered with Mediterranean shrub vegetation, and the peaks have remnants of pine and fir forests.
