Banzare Coast

Banzare Coast

part of the coast of Wilkes Land (eastern Antarctica), between 122° and 130° E. long. There is a glacial shelf with several glacial tongues. The Voeikov shelf glacier is attached to the continental glacial cover in the central part of the coast; east and northeast of the glacier there is a constant accumulation of icebergs. The Banzare Coast was discovered in 1931 by the British-Australian-New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition and is named for the abbreviation of that name.
