Attorney in B. I. case made inequitable distribution of insurance settlement ($22500) despite oral understanding split would be "13, 13, 13". Attorney ($7500); Doctor ($10000); Client ($5000). His explanation: Since the insurance company failed to pay the full amount of doctor's bill the difference ($2500) was assessed against the client thus reducing client's share by $2500. Written contract called for attorney to receive 13 with nothing said about client absorbing an reimbursed doctor fees. Client has not accepted the reduced payment. What recourse do I have to recover the full $7500?

Based on what you say here, you could probably file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney though collectable amounts are limited...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to his behavior...
