Romodanovo

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Romodanovo Raion, Mordovian ASSR. Located on the right bank of the Insar River (Volga basin). Railroad junction (Krasnyi Uzel) 30 km north of Saransk. Romodanovo has a sugar refinery, a distillery, a brickyard, a knitwear factory, and railroad transportation enterprises, as well as a steam power plant. There is also a people’s theater.
