ROME III criteria
Criteria which are used to diagnose irritable bowel syndrome.Symptoms of recurrent abdominal pain or discomfort and a marked change in bowel habit for at least 6 months, with symptoms on at least 3 days for at least three months, and 2 or more of the following:
• Pain is relieved by a bowel movement;
• Pain onset linked to a change in frequency of stool;
• Pain onset linked to a change in appearance of stool.
