Tusheti Range

 

(also Perekitel’i Range), a mountain range in the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus, on the border of the Georgian SSR, the Chechen-Ingush ASSR, and the Dagestan ASSR. The range, located between the upper Argun and Andi-Koisu rivers, is part of the Bokovoi Range of the Greater Caucasus and extends parallel to the lower Vodorazdel’nyi Range. It measures 80 km in length and has elevations to 4,493 m at Tebulosmta. It is composed of Lower Jurassic argillaceous schists and sandstones. The highest peaks have glaciers. Alpine and subalpine meadows are found on the slopes.
