Paris Treaties of Alliance (1812)

 

two treaties concluded by France during its preparations for war against Russia. The Franco-Prussian Treaty, signed on Feb. 24, 1812, provided for the mutual guarantee of the territorial integrity of the two states, as well as for mutual assistance in the event of a war between one of the states and any third power. Prussia affirmed its participation in the Continental System. Signed on Mar. 14, 1812, the Franco-Austrian Treaty, obliged Austria to take the side of France, in the event of a war between France and Russia.
