(until 1965, the settlement of Rastorguevo), a city in Moscow Oblast, RSFSR, with a railroad station (Rastorguevo) 23 km south of Moscow. Population, 33,000 (1969). Vidnoe has a coke-gas plant, an experimental factory attached to a scientific research institute of the canning and vegetable dehydration industry, and a plant for the manufacture of aluminum structural components. Building materials are produced in the city. Vidnoe has an evening technicum for the coal-tar chemical industry.
