Selenniakh
Selenniakh
a river in the Yakut ASSR, a left tributary of the Indigirka River. The Selenniakh is 796 km long and drains an area of 30,800 sq km. It originates on the northwestern edge of the Cherskii Range and flows through the Moma-Selenniakh Depression and the Abyi Lowland. The Selenniakh River basin contains many lakes. The river is fed primarily by rain. The mean flow rate at the mouth is approximately 180 cu m per sec. The river freezes in early October, and the ice breaks up in late May. Aufeis forms in winter.
