Baian-Khongor

city in the western part of the Mongolian People’s Republic, on the Tuin-Gol River. Administrative center of the Baian-Khongor Aimak. Population, 7,300 (1963). It is a shipping point on the Transmongolian Highway. There are food, clothing, and building materials enterprises.
