Upper Volga Lakes

a group of lakes in the upper Volga River system before its confluence with the Selizharovka River. Of these lakes the more important are Lake Volgo (area, 61 sq km), Lake Vselug (30 sq km), Lake Sterzh (18 sq km), and Lake Peno (17 sq km). These lakes constitute the Upper Volga Reservoir.
