Activities:Camping, freshwater fishing, hunting, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding.
Special Features:The headwaters of the Potomac River originate here in this rugged mountain forest. It also contains the highest point in any Maryland state forest, Backbone Mountain, with an elevation of 3,220 feet.
