Potok i Razgrablenie

(Deprivation of Rights and Property), a form of punishment in Russian feudal law. In Russkaia pravda it was imposed for robbery, horse theft, and arson. The nature of the penalty changed. Originally it provided for exile of a criminal and confiscation of his property. Later, the criminal was reduced to slavery and his property was left exposed to plunder.
