Rolando area

A motor area in the cerebral cortex, situated in the anterior central convolution in front of the fissure of Rolando in each hemisphere.

Rolando fissure

The furrow between the frontal and parietal lobes of a cerebral hemisphere. Synonym: central fissure; sulcus centralis

Rolando fracture

A comminuted intra-articular fracture of the base of the first metacarpal with distal fragment subluxation. This fracture is similar to a Bennett fracture, but with more comminution.
