Vlasov Men

traitors to the Soviet motherland and participants in anti-Soviet military units that fought on the side of fascist Germany during the Great Patriotic War. They were named after Lieutenant General A. A. Vlasov, former commander of the Second Shock Army of the Volkhov Front, who went over to the Hitlerites after surrendering to the enemy in July 1942.

In May 1945 the remainder of the Vlasov units were liquidated in Czechoslovakia, and Vlasov and his confederates were captured and executed on Aug. 1, 1946, according to a sentence of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR.
