Rogers, Grace Rainey

(1867–1943) art collector, philanthropist; born in Cleveland, Ohio. She was educated locally, married (1907), lived in New York City, and was divorced in 1918. She collected French paintings and Persian art, and was involved in many philanthropic activities. She served on the boards of the Metropolitan and Cleveland museums and New York City's Museum of Modern Art, and donated portions of her collection to each one. The Metropolitan Museum's auditorium for concerts and lectures is named in her honor.
