Parallaxis

(language)A procedural programming language developed byThomas Braeunl at the University of Stuttgart. It is based on Modula-2, but extended for data parallel (SIMD) programming. The main approach for machineindependent parallel programming is to include a descriptionof the virtual parallel machine with each parallelalgorithm.

There is a simulator and X Window System-based profiler forworkstations, Macintosh, and IBM PC.

Version 2.0 runs on MP-1, CM-2, Sun-3, Sun-4,DECstation, HP 700, RS/6000.
